How to Train Your Dragon: Open your heart, you are the Dragon Knight!

Special feature of 1905 film network Bok Island, located in the extreme cold in the north, is the hometown of Vikings who have been fishing and hunting for generations. In this beautiful place, there are not only vikings who are strong and brave, but also their old enemies — — Dragon clan.

Dragons often attack Viking villages, and killing dragons has become an important tradition of the Vikings. Whether a Viking can kill a dragon becomes the standard to judge whether a Viking is a warrior.

Today is the story that people and dragons have to tell. How to Train Your Dragon is adapted from Grexita Kerviel’s children’s book How to Tame Your Dragon in 2003. It was animated by DreamWorks and released on March 26th, 2010, and was nominated for the best animated feature film in the 2011 Academy Award and Golden Globe Award.

Our hero, Hiccup Hiccup, is far from the standard of a warrior. Compared with his big, bearded people, he is more like a skinny but flexible nerd.

This made him eager to prove his Viking courage and win the heart of his favorite girl Astrid.

Hiccup was very depressed by his father’s doubts and dissatisfaction with his ability, but he found the strongest dragon he hit in the fierce battle last night in the forest — — Night dragon.

I wanted to kill the dragon, but Hiccup relented and let it go.

I confirmed that I couldn’t kill the little hiccup of the dragon, or at my father’s tough request, I took part in the dragon killing training course with my peers in the village.

Everything he was taught about dragons in the course was completely different from the injured night dragon he found in the secret valley. The most mysterious, powerful and cruel night dragon mentioned in the book was a big sprout! The dragon in the movie is endowed with the characteristics of a cat. What a clever design!

With the long time spent with the Nightmare Dragon, Hiccup became more and more suspicious about killing the Dragon.

He used his mechanical skills to make an artificial tail fin for the night dragon, instead of the one that he lost when he was hit by himself, so that the night dragon could fly into the sky again.

However, the half tail fin needs manual control to be unfolded in flight, so Hiccup often cooperates with Nightmare Dragon in flight training.

In the process, he also deepened his understanding of dragons, including what they are afraid of, what they like and what they hate. These are all knowledge that the Vikings have never had in their dragon textbooks, which overthrew the Vikings’ inherent understanding of dragons, which also made him often win by surprise in dragon slaying training courses.

My father, who went to look for the dragon cave, came back with a dragon slaying expedition.

The father thought that his son had become a little warrior who could kill the dragon, but obviously, the way Hiccup subdued the dragon was very different from bloody killing. Astrid, a little friend, became suspicious of him, followed him to the secret valley and found the existence of the night demon dragon without teeth.

After a while, Toothless took the hero and heroine to the sky. The most beautiful pictures in the film are obviously these flying scenes. You can imagine how shocking it is to watch 3D effects.

After flying for a long time, Hiccup, Astrid and Toothless stumbled upon the nest of the big dragon, and found that the big dragon controlled other dragons to collect food for themselves.

The harmony of the affectionate dragon has cast a shadow of conflict. How can we get rid of the dragon and at the same time let the vikings who hate the dragon accept that the night demon dragon has no teeth and that the dragon is not as evil as recorded?

This is the climax of film conflicts. The contradiction between humans and dragons has a long history and never dies. Seeing that the night demon dragon toothless was caught to lead the way to slaughter the dragon nest, and seeing that the father and son did not understand each other because of different concepts, the audience was inevitably worried.

Of course, DreamWorks cartoons won’t keep us busy for long, and the contradiction between people and dragons needs a back-pot man (that is, the big dragon hiding in the dragon’s nest)

At this time, the Flying Dragon Knight team assembled and launched various attacks on the Great Dragon.

Of course, the final tuning hammer still depends on the trump card combination of Hiccup and Toothless Boy!

The big dragon was finally knocked down, and the hatred and misunderstanding between human beings and the dragon were finally resolved. Even the father of the most stubborn little hiccup, as the patriarch, put down his prejudice against the dragon and thanked Toothless for saving his child’s life.

After that, Bok Island still snows for nine months and hails for three months of the year. The food is hard and boring, and the locals even go beyond it. The only advantage is pets. There are ponies or parrots in other places, and here are — — Dragon!

How rare and valuable is mutual understanding? The contradiction between any species is not necessarily irreversible, especially when the premise of all this is based on "misunderstanding". Maybe it’s too surreal for us to understand each other with dragons, but How to Train Your Dragon is like a mirror reflecting reality. At least let’s start tomorrow, open our eyes and open our hearts, and start by actively understanding the people around us ~
