On March 20, Hongqi New Energy brand’s first strategic model, EH7, was officially released. Liu Yigong, general manager of FAW Group Co., Ltd., said that in the new energy era, Hongqi will always be user-centered, with craftsman spirit as the cornerstone, product quality as the key, and innovative technology as the driving force to continue to meet the needs of users in multiple scenarios.
In recent years, FAW Hongqi’s innovation capabilities have continued to increase, completing the trial production of 100% domestically produced chips, and independently controlling 121 key core technologies such as ultra-high-speed electric drive systems and high-specific power fuel cell engines. Hongqi EH7 has solved many problems plaguing new energy vehicle users through innovative design in passive safety, active safety, and battery safety, as well as independent research and development of high-speed motors and the first hexahedral insulation technology for battery cells.
According to Liu Yigong, in 2023, Hongqi’s cumulative retail sales exceeded 370,000 vehicles, an increase of 29.5% year-on-year, and a positive growth year-on-year for 6 consecutive years. Among them, the retail sales of new energy products exceeded 85,000 vehicles, an increase of 135% year-on-year, and the penetration rate exceeded 23%. Among traditional luxury brands, Hongqi’s new energy penetration rate ranked first. Up to now, Hongqi brand has laid out nearly 200 new energy sales outlets, achieving full coverage of the first-tier market.
