Russian Deputy Defense Minister makarov told Russian media on the 22nd that Russia is testing a tank with excellent performance, and the test work will end next year, and the army will be produced and equipped in 2009.

Ten years ahead of the west

Makarov said that the combat performance of this new type of tank is better than that of all types of tanks at home and abroad, and its running device, driving device, fire control system, weapon, target identification and reconnaissance system are all new.

The analysis pointed out that Russia’s new tank is most likely the T-95 speculated by the outside world. As early as the mid-1980s, the former Soviet Union started the development plan of the fourth-generation main battle tank T-95, but it stopped for various reasons. This new tank weighs 50 tons, and its length and width are basically the same as those of T-72 and T-80. It has absorbed many advantages of active tanks and given more special properties, which has far exceeded the new main battle tank being developed in the United States. It is said that it will take at least 10 years for the west to catch up.

The fourth generation of new modeling

According to the data, the firepower is one of the biggest advantages of the T-95. In addition to the comprehensive strike fire system, its gun-launched missiles can penetrate 1200 mm thick armor at a long distance, and the hit rate is guaranteed to be above 80%. The T-95 has a maximum off-road speed of 85km/h and is equipped with an intelligent suspension device, which doubles the off-road speed and improves the stability by 10 times.

In terms of protective measures, T-95 adopts all-titanium alloy modular armor with high strength and good toughness, so that the resistance can reach or exceed 1500 mm thick steel plate. Different from the previous Russian tanks, the T-95 broke the tradition and adopted the unmanned turret design, and its automation degree was obviously improved. The tank crew will be reduced to two, namely the captain and the driver (and mechanic). It pays attention to the ergonomic design, the cockpit is completely separated from the combat cabin with armor plates, the chair is comfortable, the cabin activity space is more spacious than other tanks, and the fatigue factor caused by narrow space is reduced.

In addition, the T-95 is equipped with the most modern radio equipment. With its low profile, powerful artillery, advanced protection and anti-dust measures, T-95 can have an advantage in the confrontation with any modern tank.

  Russia stepped up its armament.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his State of the Union address in April this year that Russia must continue to strengthen its armed forces, and Russia has begun to implement the national weapons and equipment plan for 2007-2015, most of which should be used to purchase new weapons and military technology and equipment in bulk. According to Russian media reports, Russia’s defense budget in 2007 was 822 billion rubles (US$ 1 is about 25 rubles), which means that Russia urgently needs weapons and equipment, most of which will be used to update naval weapons and equipment, at least 50% of which will be used for submarine forces.

Military industrial complex is the success of Russian defense industry, which has high technology and innovative vitality, and employs tens of thousands of people. In 2005, Russia’s weapons and equipment have been exported to 61 countries, with a total export value exceeding $6 billion.
